Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fairs are now one of the most anticipated events among fashion lovers. Vintage never goes out of fashion; if it’s the bright prints of the 60s or the sequins of the 20s everyone can find something to love.
Founder Judy Berger started ‘The Affordable Vintage Fair’ in 2005, sourcing vintage traders from all over the UK and then getting them together for one day of vintage trading. Now in 30+ cities, Judy’s fairs are just getting bigger. Recently in Liverpool, our fashion editor digs deeper…oh, what a hard life!
Vintage clothing has never been the easiest to get hold of- until now. Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair allows people to visit 20-30 stalls filled with a selection of clothing and accessories to try on at your own pleasure. There’s no poor quality pictures or debating over price on eBay.
Judy’s Vintage Fair Liverpool is situated in the Crypt in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral (that place below the cathedral where we do exams). It’s a great location, almost on campus for most students and just a short walk from the centre of town. The large room is perfect to host around 25 stalls, with everything from check shirts, denim hot pants, to a teacup candle.
With dresses from a fiver and funky sunglasses from £3, its easy to kit yourself out for summer. From a check shirt tucked into a denim skirt or a 1940’s dress with cowboy boots, there is something to suit everyone!
And of course who can forget the CAKE!
Slices of these beauties are only £3 along with a cup of tea from a proper teacup- heaven. Pears of Peas served up the nicest lemon cake we have ever tasted (and we’re big cake eaters). This little bit of sweetness rounded Judy’s fair up perfectly.
Keep an eye on ‘Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fairs’ Facebook page (http://bit.ly/23oZWaT) for updates and new dates for fairs in Liverpool and surrounding areas. Most fairs are 11am-4pm and are located all over the UK so there is always somewhere you can pop in!
